  1. im pretty sure this is right...

first, you make the percent into a decimal.

    and then you multiple them.

    so here's your work:

    .40

    x40

    -------

    16

im not a geek,i just know a little mathh (:

  2. If something is 40% smaller, you just subtract 40%.

So 40% of 40 calories is 16: you do this by multiplying 40 by 0.4.

    The answer would be 40 - 16 = 24

A shorter way would just be to multiply by 40 by 0.6, since that's 1-0.4.

  3. do 40/100 *40 = 16 because it is 40 percent of 40 calories.

    40-16=24 calories

  4. 40x[60/100] =24 calories

60% because it is 40% less

  5. 40*.4=16

    40-16=24 calories

  6. 24 calories.

you just multiply 40 with .60 since thats the amount that will be left.

  7. 24 calories

    40 *.4=16

    40-16=24

  8. 40% of 40 is 16  so..........40-16=24...sugar-free gum has 24 calories

  9. The answer is "The piece of sugar-free gum contains 24 calories"

  10. 36 calories
