Hi

If I parked a car on a road with a 2 degree decline and left the handbrake off, is it possible to work out the speed the car would reach if it travelled for 2 meters, and what would that speed be?

Cann you answer the same for a 4/6/8 and 10 degree deline?

The details of the car are as below. Thanks in advance this relates to what I believe to be a fradulent insurance claim. Thanks in advance

Wheelbase 2725 mm (107.3 in)

Length 4260 mm (167.7 in)

Width 1750 mm (68.9 in)

Curb weight 1300 kg (2866 lb)−1405 kg (3097 lb)

  1. Relax, have a poo.

  2. Yes, it is possible to know the speed after 2 meters, you need to know the mass of the car, and also the coefficient of friction between the tire and pavement.  It would be different for each angle of incline.  Since I don't know the numbers for the values I said you needed, I can't run through what the speed would be, but it would not be very high.
