3 ANSWERS

  1. 3(a+b)+3(b+a)

    =3a+3b+3b+3a

    =6a+6b

    =6(a+b)answer

  2. 3(a+b)+3(b+a)

    3a + 3b + 3b + 3a

    6a + 6b

    6a = -6b

    divide by 6 on both sides

    a = -b

  3. (a+b)8

    like terms=(a+b) and (b+a)

    so you do two of those:

    2(a+b)

    then you have 2 3x you have to do (also like terms)

    so that is 6x

    you have to do a 6x now and a 2x. 6+2=8 so you have to do an 8x

    aka: 3x you do twice

    3x2=6

    you have to do a 6x now and a 2x. 6+2=8 so you have to do an 8x instead of a 6x and a 2x.

    hope that helps. you are not trying to solve the problem, just change it so it asks the same thing and has the same answer, but you are not saying a+b twice or x3 twice or anything twice.
