even under tough conditions.
However, the Aussie pair kept their top form intact and continued dominating the 470 Men class in the 2012 Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. The Australian pair claimed the top podium place of the fleet after completing three scheduled race of the opening day
with four points.
The weather conditions over the Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay were quite lighter which really troubled the proceedings and the fleet had to wait for some breeze to start the races. However, at mid day the winds started blowing up to the standards and
the 470 Men participants began the proceedings of Day 1.
The first two races of the first day were dominated by the Aussie duo as they clinched top finishes in both races. The third race did not go according to their expectations as they clinched a second position in that race to formulate the final results.
America’s Jasper Wagner and Dustin Baldewein occupied the second podium spot with 12 points. They were not able to click higher finishes but some convincing sailing booked them the second place.
