Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen grab Men’s Doubles title at BWF Superseries Finals 2012
Denmark’s top players Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen defied all odds and claimed Men’s Doubles title after defeating Japan’s Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa in the final battle at BWF Superseries Finals 2012 on Sunday, December 16, in China.
The un-seeded Mathias and Carsten, who remained impressive throughout the championship, continued their scintillating performance in the arena and managed to overpower their challengers in just 46 minutes.
Danish duo showed great performance in the arena as they played with greater level of confidence and overpowered their stubborn opponents in straight games with a reasonable margin on the board.
The second seeded Hiroyuki and Kenichi, on the other hand, played well but failed to elevate their game in the ending points of both sets and went down to their un-seeded Danish rivals without winning any set.
It was a wonderful fight in the starting rallies when both sides showed their aggression on court and played with incredible speed. They kept the pace of rallies at the highest level and did not miss any chance to finish points.
However, the in-form Mathias and Carsten started to control the pace of rallies while working well at net and managed to push their Japanese rivals on back foot.

Both sides played impressively well in the opening half and stayed close on the board until the end of first half.
After the break, the fight progressed in the similar fashion as both pairs reached in the concluding stage of the match.
At this stage, Mathias and Carsten controlled their nerves and played remarkable badminton without sparing any chance for their rivals to dominate the pace.
Danish shuttlers played smart badminton in the ending points of second game and managed to finish off this set with a tight margin of 21-19.
The in-form Mathias and Carsten proved their superiority in the arena as they played with impressive precision when it mattered most and won the title by ending up the final battle with a decent 21-17 and 21-19 total on the score board.
