Les Blues defender praised his side’s performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032
Speaking at a press conference, France full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682 admitted that his team failed to impose themselves in the match against the Three Lions but vowed to take the result as a precaution for the future and promised to perform well in the upcoming
fixtures.
Mathieu Debuchy stated that even though http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 failed to get maximum points out of their opening game of the tournament, a draw against a stubborn England side was still a good result.
"It is still a good draw and a good result. When you see the beginning of the game, it was difficult for us but we held our ground. It is awesome to play against England and it is not easy to play against such a team who is very defensive. The first twenty
minutes were tough for our side but as the game went on, we had a lot more control of the ball. "
The Frenchman has insisted that it is just the beginning of the tournament and France have a long way to go in Euro 2012. Debuchy believes that his side have the ability to perform at this level and France even have an outside chance of winning the tournament.
The France right-back believes that the settlement against England will only encourage Les Bleus to perform well in their next match.
“This is the beginning, you have to take it all in a big competition, and there are several factors. The game against England will help us for the next games.”
Debuchy has dismissed the claims that his side are taking Ukraine easily, and stated that Ukraine will be a real test for the France and the game against the co-hosts will be really tough and Les Bleus will have to perform at their best if they want to achieve
all three points from their next match.
Laurent Blanc’s men are set to face Ukraine in their second match on Friday. Ukraine are currently at the top of the group D following their match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in which the co-hosts handed a 2-1 defeat to the Scandinavian country.
