The France international has missed his first pre-season training session with Les Dogues, adding fuel to speculation that the player will leave Grand Stade Lille Metropole
The full-back failed to show up for his first pre-season training session with Lille on Saturday. The 25-year-old was granted an extended summer break following his involvement with Les Bleus at the European Championships.
However, the wantaway defender was nowhere to be seen in the training camp and the Frenchman is now expected back at the club on Monday.
Debuchy has publicly expressed his desire to seek a move away from the Ligue 1 outfit with English Premier League side Newcastle United a likely destination. However, Lille are reluctant to part ways with a player of such calibre, who can also operate as
a midfielder.
Les Dogues want to find an adequate replacement for Debuchy before letting him go. The situation with Lille is frustrating for the France international who might consider handing in a transfer request if situation remains the same.
The versatile player was impressive for Lille last season helping them to a third-place finish in the Ligue 1 last season. Debuchy further raised his profile following a number of impressive performances for the France national side at Euro 2012 as Les Bleus
reached the knock-out stages of the competition.
