Loic Remy and Andre Ayew are one of the most dangerous offensive players in the French Ligue 1 while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Valbuena-c24690’s 11 assists this campaign are still to be achieved by anyone else in the league.
However, despite all this, Olympique de Marseille are struggling in the league. As things stand, Olympique de Marseille are in eight place in the Ligue 1 standings and as many points behind third-placed LOSC Lille who are occupying the last Champions League
spot.
Playing in Europe’s top club competition is of utmost importance for Marseille considering their financial worries.
For Mathieu Valbuena, the situation is hurting to say the least. The midfielder feels that him and his teammates have made enough mistakes this year to make another one. The former Libourne man says that they have no right to make mistakes if they really
want to be in the UCL next season.
“OM must play the Champions League every year. I cannot imagine OM without it but it is looming like that. It’s hard to live this. We can do it (qualify). We will do the utmost.”
Later, the Frenchman plunged back into the upcoming game in the Champions League against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. Les Phoceens travel to the Giuseppe Meazza carrying a one-goal advantage over the Italians in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.
However, Valbuena says that it would be a complicated game against Claudio Ranieri’s side and they will have to play well.
“The Milanese have no choice, they will have to put plenty of pace and intensity. To us, we have to be sturdy in defence and play the moves thoroughly and boldly. It has been 20 years that OM has not reached the quarterfinals and if it happens, it will be
huge.”
Certainly, making it to the last-eight of the Champions League would be a big thing for the Rhone giants who could be playing in the Champions League for the last time – at least this season.
