Throughout the January transfer window, Olympique de Marseille sought to find a good striker. However, Les Phoceens failed to find one. Instead, a surprising choice was made when Brandao was asked to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127.
The striker was sent out on loan at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 where he kept on struggling. The decision to call back the striker had many people talking and some even blamed the Rhone giants for betting on a striker who had always let down the team due to his disciplinary
issues.
However, Brandao proved every one wrong. Since his return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, the Brazilian has scored five goals. Often derided for his lack of effectiveness during his first spell at OM, the Sao Paulo-born striker has started showing his worth to the team.
His comeback has pleased the OM fans and Didier Deschamps is also pleased with how Brandao has changed.
“He has changed some things, even when training, the implication is that in all things, he has to perform. Perhaps, events led him to think like this. To have a serious life and appropriate with the requirements of a professional footballer. He has not been
anywhere near to the Mistral,” laughs Deschamps while talking about Mistral, which is one of the most famous nightclubs in Aachen.
Mathieu Valbuena is also pleased to see his teammate turn a new leaf.
“I’m not there to see what he does in his private life, but his behaviour with us has not changed, he is always the same hardworking guy we know,” says Valbuena.
Valbuena also emphasised that Brandao has come a long way and scoring goals will keep on increasing his confidence.
The absence of Loic Remy means that Brandao could become indispensable and for the sake of Marseille, one can hope that his scoring form continues.
