France international, Mathieu Valbuena has come out in the open to declare that he will stay at the Rhone club even if they won’t be playing in the Champions League next season
Every winter and every summer, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has been a modicum of near consistency for the Rhone club for a long time and certainly warrants a move to a club that competes
from trophies year in year out.
As things stand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 might not be playing in the UEFA Champions League where they have proudly carried the French flag for many years. Failure to play in the UCL means that the club is at risk of losing its big starts in the upcoming summer
transfer window.
Valbuena most certainly falls in that category. However, le http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petit-c29836 Velo has come out and said that he is keen on staying the club even though things are getting tough.
“I’ve always been passionate and I love this club. Over the years, I’ve become attached to it. and I hope to have another fine season and want to give some trophies to fans.”
Valbuena echoed these statements on the night his side was to play against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the UEFA Champions League pre-quarterfinal.
Today, the situation at the club has indeed worsened. The former Libourne man was in the Marseille side that lost 2-0 at home to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
However, while talking to RMC, Valbuena said that he is 100% committed to the club and even if there are slim chances of playing in the Champions League, he would still be looking to win more silverware.
“Today, I am 100% Marseille. Here, I feel great. In addition, I was the captain yesterday (against Munich). This is a great sign of confidence. Really, I want to do great things and win titles here. It is true that Champions League is the pinnacle. It is
possible that I might stay even if there is no Champions League. For me, it’s too early to talk about my future.”
The question still remains whether Valbuena’s love for Marseille will be strong if a big club comes knocking at his door with a lucrative offer.
