Despite missing out on Champions League, Mathieu Valbuena has no intention of leaving Les Phoceens. The Frenchman has made it clear that he wants to stay at the club and help the team in any way possible.
L’OM finished 10th in Ligue 1 and failed to qualify for lucrative Champions league. It was expected that star players of the club will leave in search of Champions League football. However, Valbuena has pledged his future to the club.
While talking to reporters, the Frenchman publically voiced his desire to stay at the club.
“I'm still under contract. When all is well here, we can do what we want. But when all is not good, nothing happens.”

Olympique Marseille president, Vincent Labrune has rubbished reports that Mathieu Valbuena is not happy at the club and is forcing a move away from the Velodrome. After a meeting with Mathieu Valbuena, Labrune claimed that the Frenchman is happy at club and he is staying put.
"We did not even talk about it,” he said of the player’s alleged unhappiness. "We talked about him [and] his journey with L’OM.”
The agent of Marseille’s midfielder has dismissed speculations linking his client with a move away from Les Phoceens. The player’s representative has claimed that the Frenchman has opted to stay at Velodrome for at least one more season.
While talking to reporters, the agent of Valbuena, Christophe Hutteau stated that his client has no intention of leaving the club he adores so much. Hutteau also claimed that Valbuena is on verge of signing a new contract with the Rhone giants.
“I met Vincent Labrune in the presence of Mathieu Valbuena and Jose Anigo. He (Valbuena) will be in Marseille next year because his love for the club is unique.”
“He has offers from other clubs. He wants to be a part of this recovery because it is important. He should extend his contract in a few days, probably until June 2017.”
