I am considering A-Level Maths, but i am unsure whether i will get a good grade in it or not because i will proberlly only get a B at GCSE. In the gcse i found the statistics, trigonometry and algebra the easiest but found number really difficult, could you tell me your experience of the course and if you think i will be suited for it as i only want to take it if i will get an a or b in it?

:)

  1. im not sure, don't go there. so i don't really know.

I think if you try really hard, and ask for help if you don't understand, then you can probably get a good grade in it.

  2. A-level maths is a very difficult subject. I'm going into year 12 this September but my older sister took it. She got an A in her GCSE and still found it very hard. To suceed you need to have lots of patience, be dedicated and willing to work. If you can get it, it's a great qualification to have, but it's hard to get. Why don't you take a trial run. Where you study it for 4-6 weeks then decide if you want to continue it. I know they do it our school, ask.

You could suceed, you could fail. Talk to your teachers and see what they think. They know your work and you, they should have some good advice for you.

  3. when i did A-level (many, many years ago!) there weren't too many numbers to worry about.

But if you find statistics easier and enjoy it, then take that as an A-level.

Whatever you choose, to do well and keep motivated it helps if you enjoy the subject & have an interest in it. So choose your courses this way, and your eventual results will reflect this.

  4. i was similar to you when i was at GCSE and i took maths at AS level. Ive now given up and and expecting my result to be a fail. it was really difficult, you have to be very dedicated and determines i you want to do well.
