  1. I am not sure that graphing the data is going to help you find the median, and your description of the problem is a bit strange. You seem to have X and F data - this seems to describe a functional relationship. That has nothing to do with medians.

    "Median" in algebra refers to the middle value of a set of real numbers. To find it, sort the numbers. If there are an odd number of numbers in the set, pick the middle value; if there are an even number of numbers in the set, take the average of the two middle-most numbers.

    For example:

    1,2,3,5,9,10,10,12,13  -> median = 9

    1,2,3,5,9,10,10,12,13,15 -> median = 9.5

    You seem to have X and F values. You could find the median of the X values, and the median of the F values. Is that what you have in mind?

    If so, you could graph the data, but differently. Use F1 values 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,..., and enter your data (X or F) for F2. Graph it. Then tick off the same number of points at each end of the graph. What remains is the median. You could do this, but it doesn't seem to be very valuable.
