Maths problems? Long division!?

When i was in year six in juniour school had a problem with dividing ( if your American then i was aged about 10/11 in year six) but the thing was long division always baffeled me and i never did ask for help because my teacher humilited children in class for asking for help . As a result she's been sacked a good few years but i have just finished GCSE's and i got a grade C in maths. Its a miricle considering i still dont no how to do long division. I really need help because I need maths for my career as a doctor so im takin A levels . How am i supposed to do them without long division knowledge?. I really need some sites that show me how to divide so i can learn really quickly. i've tried bitesize but I have not gotten it ( this may be because i always had teachers that taught step by step instead of throwing me into it ) please help !

  4. I would not worry unduly about long division as this is not pushed in school nowadays.

    There is a method that uses repeated subtraction if you are interested :-

    625 ÷ 25

    25 | 625 | 10

    __ | 250 |

    __ | 375 | 10

    __ | 250 |

    __ | 125 | 5

    __ | 125 |

    Answer = 10 + 10 + 5 = 25
