  1. 800, I think

  2. n = 2^2 x 5

    so n = 4 x 5

    n = 20

    therefore, 40n = 40 x 20

    so 40n = 800

    800 as a product of it's prime factors is 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5

    In other words, 40 n = 2^5 x 5^2

    Btw, '^' means 'to the power of'

    Hope that helps!

  3. n = (2^2)(5)

    40 = (2^3)(5)

    40n = (2^5)(5^2)

  4. Yep, I'd go for 800.

    n = 2² x 5

    n = 4 x 5

    n = 20

    40n is simply 40 x n:

    40 x 20 = 800
