the first person is right.  what are the instructions?  there is no answer per se, it depends on what is wanted.  do you have to factor it?  

don&#039;t even use the answers i suggested previously, they are not right.  i don&#039;t know what i was thinking.

I don&#039;t understand what you are trying to ask. What is your question? All you have given us is an expression (of what looks like a circle)

EDIT:

3x² - 12y² + x - 2y

3x² + x - 12y² - 2y

I&#039;ll factorise it (if that&#039;s what you want):

x(3x + 1) - y(12y - 2)
