  1. To simply ask what is 200% of 1000 gives you 2000.  But this question seems to imply a rate of increase.. I think this would have to include a time factor (as:  200% over 5 minutes, or 10 minutes).  Maybe you could re-post with the exact question.

  2. Yes, your phrasing is a bit hard to understand exactly, but if I take your meaning correctly, then you are right.

An increase of 100% is a doubling, and an increase of 200% is a tripling, each of the original amount. However, be careful, because considering just the increase, not the original amount, you get your teacher's answer. You may have a miscommunication only, and nobody is wrong.

  3. if u take 200% of 1000 bacteria u get 2000.and then if u plus this 2000 with the 1000 bacteria u'll get 3000.

  4. your math teacher is not stupid he/she is right

-you should always listen to your teachers-

  5. Huh! Im not good with math.

  6. No.  100% of something is the total amount.  So if you get 100% in a test you get all the marks.  So 100% of 1000 bacteria is all the bacteria (1000 bacteria).  That means 200% of 1000 bacteria is double all the bacteria (2000 bacteria).

    Do you understand now?

If you don't understand your teacher you should ask him/her to explain more clearly.
