Fernandez recuperates from ankle sprain
Chilean International, Matias Fernandez, has successfully recovered from a slight ankle sprain sustained during International duty with La Roja.
The midfielder played the whole game for Claudio Borghi’s side; however the match ended on a sour note for him, as he suffered a sprain in his left ankle.
Due the untimely injury, the former Colo Colo man had to sit out Saturday’s training session and it was feared that Sporting Lisbon might have to sideline the player when he returned to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984.
Domingos Paciência’s side are already stretched thin with a number of stars on the sidelines and the exclusion of Fernandez would have seriously hampered their chances of beating SC Braga in their upcoming Liga Sagres tie.
However luckily for the Lisbon outfit, the 25-year-old has fully recovered and took part in the practice session yesterday.
After playing another game for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871, Matias Fernandez will then return to domestic duty with Sporting Lisbon, who are having a torrid time with injuries.
Keita returns to Estadio AXA after loan-spell with Beijing Guoan
Senegalese striker, Ladji Keita, has returned to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Beijing-Guoan-c38617.
The attacker was farmed out by the Portuguese giants during the summer as they signed a number of quality forwards. With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuno-Gomes-c28237 plying their trade at the helm, Keita’s presence was deemed surplus to requirements and he was shipped on a loan
deal to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926.
However things did not go well for the former Rio Ave man and he struggled to adapt in his new surroundings, only managing to find the back of the net once in nine outings. With his contract up at the Workers Stadium, the 28-year-old returned to Portugal.
As his future needing to be sorted out as soon as possible, the front-man is due to meet coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 Jardim and other SC Braga officials to learn of his position at the club.
While a decision has still not been made, it is likely that the Archbishops will again choose to send the player out on loan given the quality of players already in the squad.
