Matias Koski wins Men’s 800m freestyle crown - 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals
Matias Koski of Dynamo Swim Club put up a great swim on day five of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals, in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 12. The session of the meet conducted Men’s 800m and 50m freestyle final heats.
Initially, Matias Kosko hit the wall in 8 minutes and 08.54 seconds to win the golden crown. Meanwhile, the silver medal was taken over by Dere Pridemore of Sarasota YMCA with a winning mark of 8 minutes and 11.76 seconds. Logan Redondo of Mission Viejo
took home the bronze medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 8 minutes and 12.15 seconds.
In the corresponding race, Zachary Ridout of Mission Viedjo was placed fourth with an impressive mark of 8 minutes and 12.69 seconds and Samu Shimomura of Santa Clara Swim earned fifth place honours with a time of 8 minutes and 12.88 seconds. Rodne Fentress
of Burkwood Aquatic earned sixth place honours with a time of 8 minutes and 13.52 seconds, while Herber Mendoza of Nitro Swimming finished seventh in a time of 8 minutes and 13.55 seconds.
Micha Gaudiani of Lake Erie Silver earned eighth position in a time of 8 minutes and 13.70 seconds. Theodo Singley of North Texas Nada was placed ninth in a time of 8 minutes and 13.78 seconds, whereas, Janardan Burns of Mission Viejo settled tenth in 8
minutes and 14.92 seconds.
In the meantime, the Men’s 50m freestyle title was taken over by Erik Risolvato of Unattached with a winning mark of 22.74 seconds. Brent Murray of Swim Atlanta earned silver medal of the platform by posting winning time of 23.18 seconds, while Nichola Soedel
of West Coast Swimm earned bronze medal on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 23.23 seconds.
John Murray of Alamo Area Aquat was placed fourth in a time of 23.32 seconds, while Gri Schumacher of Asphalt Green earned fifth place honours with a time of 23.45 seconds. In the corresponding race, Caeleb Dressel of Bolles School was placed sixth in a
time of 23.50 seconds and Colin Eaton of Mount Hood Aquat earned seventh place honours with a time of 23.63 seconds.
Michael Meldon of Swim Strongville was placed eighth in a time of 23.70 seconds, while Steven Ewoldt of Irvine Novaquati finished ninth in the respective meet with a time of 23.79 seconds. Last, but not the least, Charles Rommel of Clarence Swim settled
tenth with a time of 23.88 seconds.
