Matias Silvestre is delighted on his move to Inter Milan, and has revealed that the transfer has also allowed him to fulfil his dream of playing alongside Walter Samuel.
The centre-back has joined the Nerazzurri on-loan from Palermo for the 2012-13 season, and has expressed his desire to start with his former colleague.
Silvestre revealed that Samuel is a former Boca Juniors player, but revealed that despite his desire to play alongside the veteran defender his destiny never allowed him a chance to do so.
However, the former Catania player was adamant that the move to Inter Milan has not only allowed him to play in one of the giants of Italian football, but also allowed him a chance to play alongside his inspiration.
The Nerazzurri defender went on to state that playing in the same team as Samuel is a dream come true for him.
While talking to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the 27-year-old said:
“I was 16 and I had just been added to the Boca first team squad. I never got the chance to play in the same side as Samuel, but that was always a desire. Therefore I can now realise a childhood dream by playing alongside him for real.”
