Mating or Fighting?

Question

I was thinking about getting another Tortoise (Russian) I i'm not sure if I want a Female or a Male. I don't want any little tort's running around, but I also don't want the two to fight. What do you think?

I think I would get a female...you can always give a little one to a family member or a friend..even a pet store. That would be better than finding a wounded or dead turtle when you wake up one morning.

I would think that the one you already have is a male by the way you asked the question  :)

you can not put two males in an enclosure together, they will fight, tortoises are very territorial  you can keep two females together they will live quite happily in groups of girls as long as there is enough room and obviously a male and female can be housed together if you don't want babies then remove the eggs when they are laid,   if you have a female Russian then you are better off getting another female to go with her, if it is a male then your only option is to get a female, hope this helps best of luck.
