The Schalke defender has insisted that he can still improve despite an impressive season last term.

“We have great depth in every position, not just in central defence. That's where I prefer to play but I can also play in holding midfield. I try to do my best wherever I'm needed in order to help the team,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The 21-year-old is optimistic regarding Schalke’s chances in the upcoming season. He admits that Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are clear favourites for the title, but is confident that his side will give the two teams a run
for their money in the next season.
“I think we can still improve on last season. This team has lots of potential. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are the favourites for me but you never know what can happen if we have a really good run. It's definitely going
to be an exciting season,” he concluded.
