The Borussia Dortmund defender is determined to see off the Bavarian giants and help the Borussians retain their Bundesliga crown.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mats-Hummels-c24767 is confident that Borussia Dortmund could surely defend their Bundesliga crown if they can see off Bayern Munich next Wednesday. He was talking in the wake of his team’s 4-4 draw at the weekend against Stuttgart which
has reduced Dortmund’s lead to just three points atop the league standings.
The centre-back reckons that the title will not be a huge problem once the Borussians get hold of the Munich giants. However, he admitted that his side will need to be on their toes from the word go considering Bayern’s sensational
form in recent weeks. Hummels warned his side against any complacency and admitted that the title is Dortmund’s to lose.
While talking to a local sports publication, Bild, the 23-year-old German further added: "If we won, we would perhaps have a six-point lead over Bayern. With four games left (after that) that would certainly be a number to be reckoned
with. If we drew or lost we would have to wait."
On the other hand, the defender insisted that the Westfalenstadion outfit is still in ascendancy and Bayern will be under pressure coming into the game. He mused that the fans are fortunate to have this situation where the two
top clubs are fighting desperately for a top place finish.
"We are still out in front. That we now have a highly explosive season finale is surely the best thing the fans can wish for," Hummels concluded.
The former Bayern Munich defender joined the Signal Iduna Park outfit on-loan in 2008 and then permanently signed for the Borussians in 2009. He has so far made 115 league appearances for the Black Yellows, bagging 12 goals during
the process. He earned his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut in 2010 and has 13 international caps under his belt until now.
Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will meet in the Bundesliga on Wednesday, April 11, before locking horns again on May 12 for the final of the German Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
