Mats Hummels surprised at Mario Gotze’s exit – Football news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international, Mats Hummels has echoed that he is baffled with Mario Gotze’s choice to quit the Black Yellows in order to seek a move to fierce rivals’ Bayern Munich.
Borussia Dortmund central defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mats-Hummels-c24767, is shocked after attacking midfielder, Mario Gotze, joined Bayern Munich from the BVB. He stressed that he does not see any sporting cause to change clubs. The young starlet will begin the next season at the Allianz Arena as the Bavarian giants met his €37 million release clause.
"I do not understand Gotze's decision and I have told him just that. Everybody at Dortmund was surprised. This only further shows that this was never an issue," Hummels added.
As a result of this, the star player is dismayed by Gotze’s decision to sign for Der FCB and said that money must have been the key behind his decision to quit his old club. The defender told his former team member what he thinks and revealed that no one at Signal Iduna Park was expecting his to happen.
"Everybody can see how good our team has become. I simply do not believe that there were any sporting reasons to leave BVB,” he said.
The centre-back further added that the BVB enjoyed an amazing run in the UEFA Champions League by making it to the finals and earned rave reviews all over Europe. Therefore, he does not think he joined Die Roten to win silverware and feels money was an important factor behind the transfer.
"It was clear to see that the team had really made steps forward and Mario got along with all of us very well. That's why it annoyed me so much that he felt it was necessary to leave at such an early stage of his career," he mused.
Hummels suggested that it was evident that the Black Yellows made positive steps and Gotze was a fan favourite at Signal Iduna Park. This is the main reason why he is upset that Mario quit the club at such a young age. He is only 21 and came through the ranks of Dortmund’s youth academy.
