now they say there only paying for $8,000 of it and my insurance co might not cover my aftermarket parts and i know i should have gotten insurance for them but i didn't. my question is how do i get the money for the aftermarket parts that total about $6-$8,000 most of which adds market value to the car like rims and navigation dvd sound system ect

  1. Check the shipping contract. If it says that they don't assume responsibility for aftermarket parts, then you have a problem. If there's no clause like that, then they owe for the actual cash value of the car and aftermarket parts.

If Matson is making you an offer, find out how they evaluated the value of your car. Get a copy of their appraisal and see if you can find any specific to challenge.

Keep in mind that a thousand-dollar set of rims or whatever may add value to a car, but it won't add a thousand dollars--only the difference between what a buyer would pay for a used car with standard rims and one with.
