Former Los Angeles Lakers forward claims to have been targeted by the Manhattan Beach Cop, who arrested him ...
In a recently given interview, Matt Barnes – the former Los Angeles Lakers forward - told TMZ representatives that a certain cop in Manhattan Beach had conspired to ruin his life back in July while waiting outside his car for two
hours.
"Manhattan Beach doesn't like me very much ... I don't know why they don't like me, but they don't like me."
Barnes is a free agent now and was referring to his arrest on July 30th for an outstanding warrant.
According to reports from the night, this particular officer had waited around his car for two hours and even reported Barnes of having resisted arrest. But according to Barnes, the Cop was not right in his actions to lurk around
his vehicle and feels he was being watched.
"Someone waits outside your car for two hours ... I would say that's watching."
He went on to reveal that he does not have any problem with the entire Manhattan Beach Police Department and will not be judging anybody for one person’s actions because of his high regard for all the Cops doing their duties
"We're not gonna let a couple of situations take us away from living our lives."
As far as his future in the NBA is concerned, Barnes has hinted towards wanting to return with the Los Angeles Lakers. But the LA management have not approached him so far which has led him to pursue other options around the league
as well.
"Hopefully we'll get this arrest situation out of the way so I can go ahead and move forward with my career."
The 32 year old has been a part of 8 different NBA franchises over the course of his career and had his best time with the Phoenix Suns as he averaged 10.2 points per game.
However, having spent the past two seasons with the Lakers have gotten him think about settling down in the Hollywood region as he feels right at home with the LA system.
