Matt Grevers occupies Men’s 200m backstroke gold – 2013 Arena Grand Prix
Matt Grevers of Tucson Ford Deal occupied gold medal of the Men’s 200m backstroke on day two of the 2013 Arena Grand Prix in Colorado, USA, on Friday, February 15.
Grevers remained full dominant over his opponents from the start and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With his unmatchable pace, Grevers remained in a prominent lead over his supporters and tapped the wall for the title.
The 27-year-old Grevers faced no trouble form his toughest challenger and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 58.84 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Tyler Clary of Club Wolverine-M, who was nearly two and a half body lengths behind and tapped the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 01.02 seconds.
Clary was traced by Arkady Vyatchanin of UN-FL, who was 2.80 seconds slower and stepped on the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 03.82 seconds.
The third position holder was trailed by Bobby Bollier of STAN-PC/PASA, who was 1.50 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth position holder by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 05.32 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Jake Tapp of LOSC, who was 1.59 seconds apart and finished fifth in the race by submitting an effort of 2 minutes and 06.91 seconds.
Tapp was followed by Curtis Ogren of Palo Alto Stanford, who was only 0.07 seconds slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 2 minutes and 06.98 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Andrew Ford of GMAC, who was 1.96 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.94 seconds.
Ford was chased by Brett Pinfold of First Colony Swimming, who was unable to upset any of his competitors and finished his race in the last place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 11.56 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received huge round of applause from the audience and collected medals after the session.
