  1. the mets want him and they need him and the mets may give away some big players to do so

  2. Nowhere. The Rockies are asking for too much for him. Colorado wants a high quality starting pitcher, and really, no team can afford to give up any good starter.

Another reason why he is not going anywhere is because he loves Denver too much. All of his friends are on the Rockies including: Garrett Atkins, Troy Tulowitzki, and Brad Hawpe. Matt Holliday will make the most possible money by going year to year so he will want to finish this year with the Rockies and then he will want to find a new contract.

  3. Why would the Angels want to take in another outfielder?!?!  They are already notorious for having enough outfielders for 2 rosters!  They need Lackey and Saunders to stay healthy and they have the division wrapped up.

  4. To The Mets.

  5. It looks like someone would have to get pretty desperate for the Rox to move Holliday.

Supposedly they were asking for Ian Kennedy from the Yanks and Clay Bucholz from the Sox plus prospects just for BRIAN FUENTES....a guy who projects as a "face one batter" lefty specialist for both teams...I can't imagine what they'd ask for Holliday...

I'm guesing the Angels would have to give up Saunders and/or Ervin a middle INF like Kendrick, Aybar or Sean Rodriguez and their best OF prospect.  I doubt they're asking for less....they could be asking for more...

I think Colorado's best shot was with the Red Sox....If Big Papi were done they might make the big move...especially since it would give them some insurance when Manny starts his monthly "I'm out of here" talk...

  6. To answer kevin c.'s question there is specualtion that Colorado will move Holliday this year--like Texas did last year with Teixeira--because they will not be able to re-sign him when he becomes a FA after the '09 season. They will get more for him now in a trade than they will next year.

To answer the original question I have heard the Mets are seriously considering making an offer and whether or not they do will depend upon Ryan Church's condition.  I, of course, would love to see the Cubs get him.

  7. I would love to see him with the angels. Him and Vlad in the outfield and hitting 3rd and 4th would be a hard force to stop.

I think if they did that, they'd have a serious chance to win it all this year.

  8. I doubt that the Angels will acquire him. They already have an outfield jam.

The Rockies will probably wait until the offseason to trade him since they are still in the race for the division and he won't lose any value if they wait.

Candidates right now seem to be: Rangers, Red Sox, Rays, Yankees, and Mets since they will all have outfield positions to fill.

  9. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals tried to get him. They could replace Skip Schumaker even though he's ok. Maybe the Twins or Marlins, if they have enough money. Not really sure right now.

  10. I really don't think Matt Holliday's goin anywhere....

they really need his hot bat if they wanna make a run...

  11. Pick him up?  I didn't realize he was on waivers?  I doubt the Rockies are going to give up their best young player.  Are there actually rumors about this or is this a case of wishful thinking?
