Matt Kemp shines as Los Angeles Dodgers crush Colorado Rockies 6-4 – MLB Recap
Centre fielder Matt Kemp timely three-run home run provided the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 win over the Colorado Rockies in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, August 8 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Kemp also provided three RBIs in the Dodgers win as his slugging percentage remained consistent at .649.
"I got a good pitch to hit and I haven't really been hitting too well with runners in scoring position the last couple of days, I needed to do something," Kemp said after the game and told the reporters about his match-winning performance.              
Later manager Don Mattingly also said for his entire roster which proved too good for the Rockies, “It's just nice to get a win, honestly, with the way we've been going, You never know how a series can go. This time of year is the best time of year to be playing. The games are all important. You play 162, but now you are getting to the point where you feel like you've got to win tonight we feel like we've got to win almost every night."
Along with Kemp, the Dodgers some senior players also contributed in their win.
Veteran centre fielder Shane Victorino also played well as he scored three runs and smashed three hits on his five at-bats. He also added one RBI as his slugging percentage remained consistent at .393.
Not only batters, the Dodgers' pitchers also played well and earned a great victory for their team.
Chad Billingsley started the play for the Dodgers and despite getting hit with four runs; he was still able to win the game for his team. His ERA which remained consistent as he also struck-out five Rockies’ batters.
Relief pitcher Ronald Belisario also played well and supported his team-mate and starter Billingsley with his 1.2 innings as he received no run and one hit only. He also struck-out two and his ERA remained consistent at 2.93.
Closer Kenley Jansen pitched his one inning and finished with pride as he did not receive any run or hit while his ERA remained persistent at 1.92.
