Matt Kemp shines as Los Angeles Dodgers oust San Francisco Giants 10-0 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants in style with 10-0 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Centre fielder Matt Kemp played tremendously for the Dodgers and literally proved one of the winning factors for the team.
He scored three runs and smashed four hits along with four RBIs. He looked sharp on the plate and maintained his .658 slugging percentage.
"It's cool. I get a kick out of it. They used to not know who I was," Kemp said.
Second baseman Henley Ramirez also played well for the Dodgers and earned a significant run and three RBIs on his five at-bats.
"He's like having another Matt Kemp, You get a guy who can fly and has power," Dodgers' manager Don Mattingly said of Ramirez.
Star performer of the game, Kemp also appreciated his team-mate’s contribution in the Dodgers’ win as he discussed Ramirez and said, "He has a pretty swing, He's always been one of my favorite players and now we're on the same team. Wherever he bats, he's going to help us."
Along with batters, the Dodgers pitchers also did well on the mound and earned a great victory in the end. They played combined and as one unit while never gave any chance to the Giants to take advantage or take control of the game. Instead they kept them under pressure during the entire game which proved decisive in the end as they won in style with a huge margin.
Starter Chad Billingsley did well on the mound and pitched 7.1 innings without any run. His spell gave the Dodgers’ a solid ground to hammer the Giants with full force. He received only four hits and struck-out two hitters on his 3.89 ERA.
He looked very accurate with his pitching as even the Giants' manager Bruce Bochy appreciated his play. He said, "It looks like he has gotten back on track, He hit his spots. It was a well-pitched game."
Billingsley’s team-mate and closer Javy Guerra also pitched well and received only one hit in his 1.2 innings’ spell.
