Matt Kuchar desires to overcome the Masters Defeat at the RBC Heritage
Matt Kuchar is in the field of the RBC Heritage, desiring to compensate for his Masters loss by scoring better than the others at the tournament about to go underway, from April 12 to 15, 2012.
The 33-year-old American professional golf player played well at the Masters, the first major of the year. However, he was two strokes behind the leading position and finished tied for the third place.
He scored 8-under 280 and scored consistently at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Till the third day, he was confident that he will win the Masters Tournament title.
However, due to the impressive under-par scoring from Louis Oosthuizen and Bubba Watson, he finished on the third.
Watson is the winner of the tournament and he defeated Oosthuizen in a playoff mode, by making an early birdie on the second hole.
Kuchar’s four round scores were 71, 70, 70 and 69. He was amazing on the course and hit 14 impressive birdies and an eagle as well.
On Sunday, April 8, he was disappointed and was in sorrow for losing the major title. Now, he desires to win the upcoming PGA Tour title and wants to minimize the sadness of the Masters.
In 2011, he finished The Heritage tied at the 21st position. He scored 5-under 279 and shot 68, 72, 69 and 70 throughout the four rounds.
In the current year, he also performed well and played seven tournaments so far. He has finished four events among the top-10 and three events among the top-25.
After giving multiple best finishes, he improved his ranking and secured the 14th position, according to the Official World Golf Rankings.
Now Kuchar has high plans for the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament and is aiming to be impressive throughout the four-day event.
There are ample chances for the American to impress the spectators at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The purse of the event is $5.7 million, out of which the winner will earn $1,026,000 and additional 500 FedEx Cup points.
He has ample chances to get over the Masters defeat, by winning the RBC Heritage. He only has to play better than Rory Sabbatini, Robert Karlsson, Bill Haas, Ernie Els and the current world number 1, Luke Donald.
