English wicket-keeper Matt Prior will be a part of the Victoria side, representing the state in the Big Bash tournament next year. Prior is considered as a Test match specialist, and he has been ignored by England for the one-day internationals (ODI) and
the Twenty20 internationals. He has been named in the preliminary squad for the World Cup, but is not expected to be a part of the final squad.
The player will be confirmed in the net few days, after the player officially signs the contract with Victoria to represent them. Earlier he scored a century against Victoria in the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in a practice match. He will be looking forward
to score some runs in the fourth Ashes Test, which is also due to be played at the MCG. Prior has not been the part of the English ODI squad for a long time, and he last represented his country against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 this year. Prior has a modest average
of 25 in ODIs, as he has been shuffled around in this format of the game.

his name in the Australian domestic season, so that he can impress the selectors.
The Victorian team has another wicketkeeper batsman in their squad, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Wade-c1933. Wade is an aggressive batsman and is suited to the shortest version of cricket, but the Victorian selectors have decided to go with Prior, who they believe is a better option
for them. The Australian management has decided to go with the traditional eight city tournament from 2012. The teams for the 2012 season will be announced after the completion of the 2011 season in February.
Prior will be pleased with the opportunity he has gotten from Victoria, but he will be focused on the current Ashes series in which he has been unable to make any real impression with the bat so far.
