Having arrived in Australia to take part in the lucrative Big Bash League, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s wicket-keeper, Matt Prior, did little to hide his ambition of gaining as much information about the surroundings before the national team comes Down Under to battle for the coveted Ashes trophy.
Prior’s first task nonetheless, is to prove his mettle with the bat for the sinking Sydney Thunder , which currently sit bottom of the league, having failed o register a point from their first four matches.
However, the Test specialist was keen to open up the Ashes debate, and openly admitted his desire to expand his knowledge about their arch-rivals, who are currently batting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the second of the three Tests. The Aussies won the first clash at Hobart, and remain in pole position to take the series at MCG. However, Prior has one eye on the final Test, which will be played in Sydney.
"I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be having a little watch [of the SCG Test] and do a bit of scouting and chat to a few people about a few things," Prior said after arriving in Sydney.
It will be a busy period for the two cricketing giants next year, as they battle in back-to-back Ashes series. England will host the first showdown and will be hoping that they retain the urn when they travel Down Under.
"Ashes cricket is very, very exciting and it's a mouth-watering prospect coming up with the Aussies coming to England and us following [for a return series in Australia in November 2013] straight away."

"It's massive. Your skipper leads in every way," he said.
"Sometimes you have guys that captain and lead in the dressing-room with Churchillian speeches and really motivate the guys and then you have other guys who go out there and do what needs to be done on the pitch. Cookie certainly did that."
