Matt Riddle wants Dan Hardy Next – UFC News
After scoring a submission victory over Chris Clements, Matt Riddle now wants to go head to head against Dan Hardy.
Riddle was successful against Clements at UFC 149, where he defeated the latter with a vicious submission move.
“I will be completely honest. When I fought in Manchester, England, they were very cruel to me. One fan actually spit directly in my face, and he was lucky enough where it hit my mouth,” said Riddle when asked about his plans.
He added, “I don't have anything against English people. But to be disrespected like that, that was the part that really upset me.”
While Riddle is keen to fight Hardy, the latter is not really interested.
“Why the h**l would I fight Riddle? There is no value in it for me and I'd be forced to look at him more than I have to now,” said Hardy when asked if he wants to fight Matt Riddle or not.
He compared Riddle to teen sensation Justin Bieber, calling him a show off. “Another Justin Bieber looking idiot that clearly knows nothing about the sport. One day soon I'm going to have a job where I don't have to listen to the constant jabbering of uneducated
idiots being all self righteous,” said Hardy.
Hardy’s rude words against Riddle have set the pace for a possible bout between the two. Unfortunately, many analysts believe Riddle still needs to prove his mettle before going head to head with Hardy.
As always, nothing can be said for sure as to which fighter will fight whom next. If President of UFC, Dana White wants Riddle vs. Hardy, then the match will happen. However, after the disappointing results of UFC 149, it seems like White is weighing his
options more carefully than ever before to make fights
Riddle, who is currently being considered a promising UFC fighter, has to prove he is worth a match against Hardy. His victory Chris Clements has already marked his excellence at the sport, but he further needs to clarify his stance to make sure White is
impressed. For now, Riddle is demanding a match against Hardy, with no promises being made by Dana White.
