Alves is just as athletic as Hughes and has a pretty broad skill set, but somewhat less experience in the cage.   I'm with you though, Hughes is my pick.  Hughes is a crafty guy, especially on the ground and he needs this fight.  He's trying to move out of MMA in the next couple of years and wants the belt back before he goes.  He'll be more motivated.

It will be a good match, no matter who wins.

I think Hughes will handle him on the ground, Karo was throwing Alves around till he got caught with that knee, Hughes will take him down and not let him up.

I also think hughes is going to win.  Alves does not have the best take down deffense, and we all know that if hughes gets you on your back, you are in big trouble.  Alves has great Muai-Thai kicks, but i don't think he will be throwing alot of those because that will expose him for a take down.

Spencer Fisher trains with Hughes, and he beat Alves by submition, i don't think Fisher is better then Hughes so there for i think Hughes will come out with the win!

Alves is a great striker but he doesn't do well against strong wrestlers. Fitch destroyed him... I think Alves has come a long way since his fight with Fitch, but Hughes is awesome on the ground and has great defense. I think the match-up will be a great show to two skill sets against each other, but Hughes has this one.
