Matte finish vs Glossy LCD?

Does anyone know the advantages and disadvantages of a Matte finish display and a Glossy finish display on a LCD TV?

I think it's really just a matter of taste. I have the glossy in my living room and the matte finish in the bedroom and really don't seem to notice the difference that much.

If you have lamps or windows in the room that are on or open while you watch TV, you will see their reflection in a glossy TV.  This will interfere with the picture and reduce its contrast.
