Matteo Manassero aims big for the BMW PGA Championship – Golf News
Having recently recorded the biggest victory of his career at the BMW PGA Championship, Matteo Manassero is now hoping to add another big title to his resume when he tees of next month at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, slated to start from July 11, 2013.
The European Tour event will be played at Castle Stuart Golf Links, offering a total prize fund of £3,000,000 to the participants.
Last month, Manassero became the youngest winner of the BMW PGA Championship, at the age of 20, when he defeated Simon Khan and Marc Warren in the sudden-death playoff at Wentworth Club.
After his victory, the world of golf witnessed a mature version of the Europe’s most prodigious talents, who is now hungry for further success in his career.
“Winning at Wentworth was a big moment for me,” said Manassero. “Winning such an important tournament gives me a lot of belief going into the summer. You look at the history of the PGA and the great players who have won it and realise how big a step that could be in your career. All of that gives me great confidence for the summer.”
“The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open is one of the biggest events on The European Tour Schedule and one that I would love to win, especially on a links course like Castle Stuart,” he added.
Despite the fact that Manassero is enjoying a decent form on the tour, it will still not be an easy task for him to mount a title at Stuart Links, especially when the field will be full of top-notch players from different parts of the world.
The tournament has reeled in some prominent names, including the likes of Molinari brothers, Edoardo Molinari and Francesco Molinari, former major champions, Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington, and the defending champion Jeev Milkha Singh.
So, if you are planning to see some of the biggest stars of the European Tour at Stuart Links, then you can book advance tickets for just £70 per ticket. By booking an advance ticket, you will be able to save £10 on each ticket you purchase, as the gate price will be higher on tournament days.
