The local underdog jolted down a 6-4, 6-4 win in one hour and 43 minutes on Friday.
The Italian challenger displayed a weak start in the opener and immediately the local challenger took hold of the opportunity to even out the score line to 2-all in the fourth game. Nevertheless, his rival completely crushed his
serve in the fifth and seventh game. This completely crushed his confidence, as he was unable to fire back. Despite of his evident disintegration, Viola smartly cashed his contender’s serve in the eighth game but failed to rally beyond that point. Kosakowski
confidently jumped forward to terminate the set with a 6-4 score.
