Matthew Hatton reckons Ryan Rhodes can beat Saul Alvarez – Boxing News

The current European Champion, Matthew Hatton, thinks that Ryan Rhodes can defeat the current World Boxing Council’s Light Middleweight champion, Saul Alvarez, today in Mexico.
The undefeated prospect in the Light Middleweight division, Saul Alvarez, will step in the ring today for his first title defence against the Spice Boy, Ryan Rhodes, in Guadalajara, Mexico and Hatton thinks his unbeaten run will come to an end in the ring.
Matthew ‘The Magic’ Hatton knows Rhodes will enter this fight as an under-dog but still believes Rhodes can pull off a shocking victory. He told the media that Rhodes is a very experienced combatant and knows how to deliver solid punches. He added Rhodes
has the power to deliver knockouts and therefore has a good chance to beat Alvarez.
While speaking about the fight, he remarked, “I do think there is a chance Ryan can pull off a surprise. He is unbeaten at light-middleweight and maybe in this fight Ryan will be the bigger man on the night. Ryan is a very experienced fighter and does possess
a lot of power, so I do think he has a decent chance come Saturday night.”
The 30-year-old Hatton, who has won 41 of his 48 fights including 16 by knockout, knows because he lost to Alvarez with a one-sided decision on March 5 in Anaheim, Calif and is well acquainted with the power of the Mexican boxer.
Hatton further stated that it should be a cut-throat competition between the pugilists, as he thinks they both will get their chances during the bout. However, he again backed the Yorkshire’s warrior Rhodes by saying he has the capability of switching punches,
which can be devastating in the ring.
He also said, “Both these guys carry good power that can make a difference. I think it could be quite close and both fighters will have their moments. I’m sure Ryan will have some success because he’s an awkward southpaw who can switch hit too.”
The arena awaits and fans wonder if Ryan Rhodes can really beat Saul Alvarez in front of his home crowd. Keep checking back for updates on the fight.
