  1. he will pick up his form as usual mid season but by then it will be too late and the bombers, out of the eight for good.

  2. Just about finished, he might play some more good games but wont get back to his best. He is such a boring guy that his team mates dont want to kick it to him anymore.

  3. You have to remember he is carrying a bit of an injury at the moment.

  4. Being a star footballer doesn't mean you escape all the usual worries that people have, and having followed Matt's career for a decade, I reckon he has some sort of worries troubling him and it's affecting his concentration.

I hope he has a few words with someone who can help him manage his life for more happiness, and then we'll see the real star forward come back.

PS all you doom-sayers: remember Jim Hird, "gone" the year he was 29, and had two of his best years at 33 and 34..

  5. He's still a useful forward but his best hauls are behind him, I would be happy if he kicked 40-50 goals in a year.

  6. no he is not gone, he is coming back from injury yet again, but give a few weeks and he'll slooting them through again.

  7. i guess he will need to if he want too play new coach new era but who else have they got

  8. Lloyd can totally pick up his form... geez how could you ever doubt that? I think that he's obviously not as good as he has been in his career but that doesn't mean he can't get back to where he was... lloyd is not finished yet

  9. A strong Essendon forward line needs Lucas and Lloyd

If they are by themselves they will be either tagged out of the game like we saw was Friday - or they are ineffective ie they are forced to get their marks on the wing 80 meters from goal.

Lloyd while leads well no longer has the zip on defenders.

he rarely chase to put pressure on defenders therefore they rebound easily.

They just need to leave him at full forward and have crumbers around him - which they are doing now with Alwyn Davey.

His form will improve slightly but McPhee must take some pressure off him.
