The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Mott-c1928 would continue his role as county’s head of elite performance, despite contending for the New Zealand’s head coach position, that will be vacated by John Wright next month.
Glamorgan chief executive Alan Hamer told media reporters on Thursday that Mott had chased the role after receiving club’s approval, and now  after he has failed to grab the opportunity, Glamorgan’s doors are open for him.
 “Although we gave Matthew our consent to speak to Cricket New Zealand, we publicly stated that we did not want to lose him,” said Alan Hamer, after New Zealand Cricket confirmed Mike Hesson as new head coach of the Black Caps.
“We are therefore pleased to confirm that Matthew will be continuing in his role as the club's head of elite performance and we can now focus on the remainder of the current season and our plans for next year,” he added further.

is Wright’s last assignment in capacity of Kiwis head coach.
Earlier this week it was confirmed by the NZC that Mott, along with two other contenders, has been shortlisted for the coveted role. The interviews took place this week, where http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mike-J-Hesson-c76286 was selected as Wright’s successor, until the end of 2015 World Cup.
Mott, the 38-year-old Queenslander, expressed his gratitude to the club for giving him permission to discuss the role with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Cricket, and assured his 100 per cent commitment to the Welsh Dragons.
“I'm grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to speak to Cricket New Zealand,” said Mott, who arrived at Glamorgan for the 2011 season, after spending four years with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 in a parallel role.
“Like all ambitious coaches, I have aspirations to work at the highest level. That said, I am 100% committed to Glamorgan,” he added further.
