Matthew Mott to resign from the post of New South Wales coach

This was revealed by Cricket New South Wales on Friday, January 14th, 2011.
Mott spent three years as an assistant coach under Trevor Bayliss before he was promoted to the head coach position during the 2007-08 season. He then spent seven prosperous years at his new position, taking Cricket NSW to the pinnacle of success.
The 37-year-old Queenslander holds an impressive coaching record. He took New South Wales to the Sheffield Shield title in his first year as the side’s head coach. The next domestic season saw the Blues lifting the Big Bash Twenty20 trophy, defeating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Victoria-c859 by five wickets in the final match.
It was under Mott’s coaching that the Blues qualified for the inaugural Champions League in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in October 2009 where the side thwarted the Caribbean team, Trinidad and Tobago in the tournament’s final to lift the trophy.
The Queenslander was also appointed as the assistant coach of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s national side, driving the squad to the final of the World T20 Championship in the Caribbean last May.

Mott was excited about the new challenge awaiting him at Glamorgan. While expressing his views to the media he said, "I have had a fantastic seven years at Cricket NSW and will miss the place and the people immensely. The chief executive of Cricket NSW, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Gilbert-c52821 hailed Mott’s efforts during his seven-year tenure with the side. The chief said, "Motty’s record as coach of NSW speaks for itself. He has been a highly valued member of staff for the past seven years and it will be a sad day to see him go.”
Gilbert showed gratitude for his services and wished him good luck for his new role at the Welsh county.
