Matthew Wade at number 7 gives Australia advantage, feels Shane Watson – Cricket News Update
Australia’s vice-captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558, believes that his team will have an advantage in the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series against England because of the depth in their batting line-up.
The battle is going to commence tomorrow at the Lord’s with the first ODI and the arch-rivals will be looking to draw the first blood.
The two teams are evenly matched and have been in tremendous form in the recent times. Most of the pundits believe that the fans will witness a nail-biting contest as both the teams are looking to seize the advantage before the Ashes 2013.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 usually relies on a very strong bowling attack to restrict the opposing batsmen in the 50-overs format, which means that the all-rounder Tim Bresnan has to bat at number 7.
The fast bowler has played a number of quality knocks at the highest stage of the game and the Aussie cricketer admits that Bresnan is a valuable player.
"I'll never sell http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 short, I think he's an excellent cricketer, he's a very highly skilled bowler and he got 70-odd against us in the semi-final of the Champions Trophy a few years ago as well, so I know he can bat," Watson said.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Wade-c1933 bats at number 7 for the Kangaroos, who he thinks, is a much better batsman than Bresnan.
The all-rounder expressed, "But there's no doubt it does put a bit more pressure on him batting at seven, and Matthew Wade has had some pretty good success in his short career anyway opening or batting at seven as well. That could be to our advantage."
The English batting line-up has shown a lot of consistency in recent times, although Kevin Pietersen’s retirement has hampered their progress in the shorter formats.
On the other side of the coin, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380. Therefore, one can expect a fierce battle between the English bowlers and the Aussie batsmen.
