The Australian player, Matthew Wade, has stated that he’s trying to learn from the relatively experienced wicketkeeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BJ-Haddin-c1170, as much as possible. The youngster is vying for his Test Cap by replacing Haddin in the upcoming Test series against
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in the Caribbean.
At 24 years of age, the young wicketkeeper batsman has drawn attraction from fans and authorities after a successful performance during the recently concluded CB series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. With just 11 ODIs under his belt, Wade has scored 3 fifties at an average
of 31 so far in his career.
"It's started really well. Obviously we've had a couple of sessions working together leading up to the one-day series," stated Wade while referring to his work out with Haddin.
Commenting upon his chances to learn from Haddin, Matthew remarked, "He's really good, he's got a lot of knowledge obviously in these conditions and he's played a lot of international cricket. I’m just opening my ears and listening to everything he's got
to say."
In recent months, the youngster has appeared as a potent replacement for the out-of-form Brad Haddin. Even though, the 34-year old has the confidence of selectors for inclusion in the 1st Test match, performance pressure is on Haddin to cement
his place in the team.
Earlier, the selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rodney-William-Marsh-c86419 had favoured Brad when he said, "But if I wanted to place a punt on it, I would have Haddin will play in the first Test match, as he should and we'll wait and see what happens after that."
Haddin had displayed a poor, below average performance in the Test Series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 where he failed to impress substantially. Since then he has come under the scrutiny of selectors who are equally attracted by the flair of young Matthew.
Wade is the one of the two uncapped Test players in the Australian squad besides http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Forrest-c2176 and he aims to replace Haddin, one of the six players in the ODI squad who have played before in the Caribbean.
Challenging an experienced player to earn his Test debut as a wicketkeeper batsman might be a daunting task for Matthew but his scintillating performance has kept his hopes high so far.
