Matthias Almer tames Jaromir Janacek in Men’s Singles quarter-final at Slovak Open 2012
Austria’s most dedicated young shuttler Matthias Almer showed his lofty craft on court and stormed into Men’s Singles semi-final after ending up the winning run of his opponent Jaromir Janacek Czech Republic in quarter-final contest at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 on Saturday, September 8, in Slovakia.
The incredible Matthias, who entered into the arena as an un-seeded shuttler, proved his elevated skills by putting up a fabulous show of elite class badminton and remained successful in finding his place in the top four at the Slovak Open.
The in-form Austrian shuttler played to his best abilities on court and he impressive the local crowd with his speed and accuracy on court and stamped his mark over Jaromir in a phenomenal way by finishing off the battle in straight games with a stunning margin in just 29 minutes.
In the meanwhile, Jaromir tried to play positive badminton in opening rallies but he failed to stop the aggressive play of his rival and eventually became a prey to him in a one-sided fashion as he lost the battle in two games with a humiliating margin.
The impressive Matthias showed up a superb performance by dominating the pace of rallies from opening points of first game and remained successful in grabbing a tremendous lead at the opening stage.
The Austrian shuttler was in complete control of rallies and he did not face any trouble in setting up a stunning lead until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Matthias continued his killing run against Jaromir without showing him mercy at any stage and remained successful in taking the first game with a one-sided 21-12 margin on the score board.
In the following game, a confused Jaromir tried to play better badminton in order to cope up with the fireworks of his Austrian opponent but he failed to dictate the pace and remained far behind until the mid-game interval.
On the other hand, the in-form Matthias remained consistent in his progress on court as he did not let his rival to find a good flow. He raced away in the concluding half and ended up the set with a staggering difference of 21-13.
Matthias won this Men’s Singles quarter-final fight in an authoritative fashion by a huge margin of 21-12 and 21-13.
