Matti Breschel not sure of his 2013 home team
Matti Breschel is still not sure about his future but it is believed that the cyclist is likely to end up with Team Saxo Bank for the 2013 season.
He was looking towards the 250 kilometre Olympics Men Road Race which was an ideal platform to market his skills for the World Tour teams.
“It is clear that if we do something big, it will create a focus and a lot of talk about my person in the media. It's always nice as a cyclist,” he noted ahead of the Saturday’s race.
The cyclist however struggled to make an impact at the London event and could not secure any better than the 41st overall position at the race.
Alexandr Vinokourov (Kazakhstan) occupied the top spot with Rigoberto Uran (Colombia) and Alexander Kristoff (Colombia) finishing at the second and the third positions respectively.
Matti marked his professional debut with Team CSC in 2005 and rode with the team by the end of 2010.
He accepted an offer from Team Rabobank in 2011 and has completed the two-year tenure with the side.
The Dane struggled to produce any results for the Dutch team and his only admirable performance includes a third place finish at the Gent-Wevelgem and a ninth overall spot at the Tour of Flanders.
Breschel is content with the time spent with Team Rabobank, although he was a little disappointed for not being chosen to ride the Tour de France.
The main reason behind his disappointment on losing the Tour participation is because the French race is a great place to have contacts and negotiations.
“It's where it all happens. Different managers have closed the shutters during the first days after the Tour. But I have no stress”.
“There is probably nothing in place until after Saturday”.
“I'd like to return to Saxo Bank,” he told sporten.dk, and the main reason behind his decision to join the Danish team is because he believes it be a much
stronger team in the coming season.
“But it also happened to me at Saxo.  He (Riis, ed.) will have a strong team next year.  But we will see”.
Team Saxo Bank has now joined hands with Tinkoff Bank to form Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank for the 2012 season.

Only time will tell, if the Breschel manages to impress the new management to make it through the final team squad for the season ahead.
