The Presidents of the two co-owners have indicated that the Giallorossi are far ahead of the pack in the contention to sign the young striker.
Genoa and Siena have suggested that Mattia Destro’s move to AS Roma is imminent, following a meeting of executives from both the clubs to resolve the co-ownership of the player.
The 20-year-old spent the last year on-loan to the Robur, where the club took the option to buy the half-share in the player at the last moment.
The player is currently co-owned by Siena and Genoa, and the prospective buyers of the striker are standing buy as the two clubs try to resolve their co-ownership deal.
A meeting of the Presidents of the two clubs Massimo Mezzaroma and Enrico Preziosi was recently held, but failed to reach a conclusion on the fate of Mattia Destro.
However, both the patrons have admitted that AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 remains the most likely destination for the budding star.
Mezzaroma revealed that the meeting with the Genoa chief was concluded without any agreement on the matter, but stated that he would like to see the player play for the Giallorossi.
“With Genoa there was a cordial meeting, but no agreement has been reached. As a Roman, I would like to see Destro go to Roma.”
On the other hand, Preziosi also talked to the reporters, and revealed that AS Roma are standing by to acquire the services of Destro, and stated that the player will end up at the Maggica if Genoa are able to get hold of the full ownership of the player.
“Mezzaroma wants Destro to go to Roma, so I will do everything possible so he doesn’t go.” He joked.
“If Destro ends up with Genoa then there is an agreement to sell him to Roma.”
Sky Sport Italia have reported that the Genoa chief is set to meet sporting director Walter Sabatini today, to discuss the deal regarding Mattia Destro.
Enrico Preziosi had earlier also stated his desire to see the young striker move to a great club, and also acknowledged that the Giallorossi are the best possible option for the player.
