Mattia Pasini says it is shame that they could not finish the race at Laguna Seca – MotoGP news
Mattia Pasini of Speed Master believes that it is disappointing that he had to retire from United States Grand Prix.
He says that they should have been able to finish the race and add the points to their championship standing. He said that they were able to get an impressive start and they were able to improve their place as they had good pace.
Furthermore, he said that there was a chance to stay in race and then later by the end he could have attacked and improved his place. He added that this way he could have added some points from Laguna Seca which could help them in classification of the championship.
Pasini said, “It’s a shame that we couldn’t finish this race. We started off pretty well, we moved up quite a few positions and we had a good pace. There was a chance to stay with Hernandez and De Puniet, and then attack and try to improve in the last part
of the race, but on the twelfth lap a technical problem forced us to retire. We could have left Laguna Seca with a few points that would have helped in the classification, but now we can only look towards Indianapolis, where we’ll do our best to make up points.”
The Italian rider further added that they are looking forward towards Indianapolis GP scheduled this August. He said that at Indianapolis Grand Prix, their team will try their best to add some points to their account.
Pasini was able to secure 18th grid position in the U.S Grand prix. However, he retired in the 11th lap of the Grand Prix.
Pasini has just joined MotoGP in the current season and rides for the team Speed Master. He holds 15th place with 13 points he had secured until now. He has been able to make 10 starts until now however, has only been able to conclude 6 because he retired
from four grands prix.
He has not been unable to achieve any podium yet nor has he ever taken any pole position.
