Mattijs Dierickx – Freek Golinski enter into Men’s Doubles final at Polish Open 2012
Mattijs Dierickx and Freek Golinski, the most impressive shuttlers from Belgium, showed their remarkable skills on court and remained successful in reaching into Men’s Doubles final after beating Antoine Lodiot and Julien Maio of France in the semi-final fight at the Polish Open 2012 on Saturday, September 1, in Poland.
The second seeded Mattijs and Freek, who remained in commanding form throughout the championship, continued their aggressive run on court and remained successful in winning the battle in a decent manner.
The higher ranked Belgian shuttlers played remarkable badminton in the semi-final clash against their French rivals and they remained successful in ending up the contest in straight sets with a reasonable margin in just 32 minutes.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Antoine and Julien were not up to the mark while playing against their higher ranked French opponents.
The French shuttlers gave a good fight particularly in the second game but not enough to escape defeat from the hands of their Belgian rivals.
In the opening game, the second seeded Mattijs and Freek showed their impressive skills on court as they played in a dominating fashion and remained successful in winning a wonderful lead at the early stage.
The in-form Belgian shuttlers remained on track in the opening half of first game and managed a spectacular gap until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Mattijs and Freek continued showing their remarkable skills supported by their impressive coordination on court and remained successful in taking the opening set with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
In the second game, the French shuttlers also showed a tremendous aggression on court as they played with impressive speed and remained close to their higher ranked challengers until the end of first half.
After the mid-game interval, both pairs continued putting up thrilling show without showing any sign of slowing down their speed at any stage and reached at the nail-biting stage of 20-20.
The Belgian players proved their supremacy on court by playing positive and controlled badminton at this crucial stage and won the set with a margin of 22-20.
Mattijs and Freek emerged as the winner in this semi-final clash in straight games with a decent 21-13 and 22-20 score on the board.
