Maturnity allowance?

Hi i wonder if anyone had had to deal with the incompency of the job centre with processing maturnity allance forms, i have sent one to the wrong address because thats the pre addressed envelope. the 2nd i sent recorded next day delivery and now they tell they haven't recievd it which is a lie as the post office have delivered it. Then when I rang up the lady on the phone was rude to me and didn't listen to the questions i was asking. has anyone else had these problems? and how long did it take 4 them to sort your claim out?

yes they took 8 wks i think in the end all back payed.. frustrating.

I tried to look up maturnity allowance and couldn't find anything so can't help you I'm afraid, have you ever considered English lessons?

Not quite the same, but I had a bit of a nightmare with my maternity pay.  I hadn't been in post long enough to get the full pay, and I knew this, but when they sent me the letter to sign (eight weeks late, and after a reminder phone call from me) it said I was due the whole lot.

I then had a dilemma about whether or not to come clean, or just try and take the money.  Fortunately, my conscience won out and I called them to tell them they had it wrong.

Another 3 weeks later, and two days before my leave was due to start, I still knew nothing and had to call again.  I then found out they were going to put too much in my account, so I kicked up a right stink and they changed it at the very last minute (otherwise I would have spent the money that I didn't have)

Oh, and when my daughter was 8 months, and after I'd been back at work for two they sent me a "congratulations on the birth of your baby" letter!  Unbelievable.
